Texas A&M Baseball sets key dates for 2026 season prep

A new year brings a fresh sports calendar, and for the Texas A&M baseball program, it also brings a chance at redemption. After missing the NCAA postseason for the first time since 2021, the Aggies enter 2026 with an opportunity to reset the trajectory of the program and return to national relevance.

Fans got their first look at the upcoming squad during fall ball, and the early signs were encouraging—even without one of their projected top hitters, Chris Hacopian, who arrived through the transfer portal but did not participate. January marks the official report date, followed by the start of full-team practices.

Expectations remain measured, but the talent on the roster suggests a postseason return is well within reach. While the Aggies aren’t projected as preseason national-title contenders, multiple outlets expect them to be back in the NCAA Tournament and potentially in the mix to host a regional.

For head coach Michael Early, the stakes are clear. Entering his second season, he needs to field a competitive team every single day to solidify his standing with a fan base that was already split on his hiring. Missing the postseason only intensified the scrutiny, but the staff made several strategic offseason additions that could pay off once the season begins.

With Opening Day about six weeks away, here are the key dates on the Aggies’ preseason calendar:

Texas A&M will open the 2026 campaign with a three-game home series against Tennessee Tech beginning February 13 at Blue Bell Park in Bryan–College Station.
