In another frustration to a 2025 season full of them, Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown suffered an injury in the final minute of Detroit’s 23-10 Christmas Day loss at the Minnesota Vikings.
On Monday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked to update St. Brown’s injury status headed into Detroit’s Week 18 finale at the Chicago Bears.
“Yeah, I think long-term he’s going to be okay, which is good. That’s good news,” Campbell said.
Asked what St. Brown’s injury meant in the short term, Campbell painted a cloudy forecast for Sunday’s regular-season finale.
“Day-to-day. He wants to go and he’ll be day-to-day. He’s improved,” Campbell said.
St. Brown’s game status was questionable last week with a knee injury as he began the week with a did not practice designation and was listed as a limited participant in Detroit’s other two walkthroughs.
In a game with no postseason implications for Detroit, Campbell said on Monday that a questionable designation on this week’s injury report would be different as compared to other weeks where playoff chances are at stake.
“Yeah, I think so. I think if we’re sitting there borderline and it could be hard or we think they’re setting themselves up for long-term risk, then, no, it’s not worth it. But, if it’s the stuff doesn’t feel good and it’s bumps and bruises, then, no, it’s like the next game up,” Campbell said.
St. Brown has reeled in 106 receptions for 1,262 yards and 11 touchdowns. It’s St. Brown’s fourth straight 1,000-yard receiving season.
Kickoff between the Lions and Bears is set for 4:25 p.m. ET from Soldier Field on Sunday, Jan. 4.
