The depth chart for the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish against the Stanford Cardinal is a little odd.
What stands out is that wide receiver Jaden Greathouse is listed, despite talk of him sitting out the final regular-season games so he’ll be available for the postseason. There was even talk of redshirting. Defensive lineman Gabriel Rubio, who is in a similar situation, is not listed.
Also not listed is defensive back Tae Johnson, who missed the Syracuse game with a hand injury. This would seem to indicate he’s not ready to return just yet.
We’ll keep an eye on what’s happening with Greathouse. He warmed up before the game against Syracuse and was available in an emergency, so that’s likely the case here — Notre Dame is trying to redshirt him and delay his return until the playoff, but keeping him available for Stanford just in case.
