Lady Longhorns named finalists for 2027 five-star recruit Addison Bjorn

As the Lady Longhorns look to build for the future, they have been connected to Addison Bjorn. The five-star recruit is one of the best prospects in the 2027 class and listed Texas in her top seven on Monday. With her decision set for Thursday, the Longhorns appear well-positioned to add another elite talent to the mix.

Although the Longhorns have been one of the best programs in the nation, they do face competition. The other programs in Bjorn’s list are Iowa, Notre Dame, UConn, UNC, Kansas, and Duke. In the past 10 years, Notre Dame has won one national title, while UConn has won three. Texas could soon join that list and would have an even better chance next year with Bjorn on the roster.

The interest in Bjorn comes as no surprise. The Park Hill South star is ranked as the 11th-best player in her class by 247Sports. They also rank her as the second-best small forward in the nation and the best player from Missouri. Due to her versatility and ability to score in bunches, scouts expect Bjorn to be a star at the college level.

While the Longhorns do have some holes to fill, they are also expected to welcome a few elite players next year. They have already secured a commitment from four-star prospect Aaliah Spaight. She will be joined by Amalia Holguin, who is one of the top combo guards in the 2026 class. Adding Bjorn to that mix would give Texas an elite trio.

Over the next few days, like the other six programs on Bjorn’s list, Texas will be patiently waiting for what she decides. Any of them would get a massive upgrade with the Missouri native in the mix. Following one of their best seasons in program history, Texas is on the rise, which comes at the perfect time to land a player like Bjorn.
