The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating a reported Akron police shooting that occurred Nov. 11 in Ellet on Albrecht Avenue, the Akron Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 7 posted on its Facebook page.
“According to initial reports from citizens, a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun was pointing it at others,” the police union posted. “When officers arrived, they encountered an uncooperative individual and were forced to make a split-second decision to ensure their own safety and that of the community.”
There were no confirmed details regarding the condition of the victim.
No officer was injured during this incident, Ohio BCI confirmed.
