Dallas Cowboys fans enjoy HOF mobile museum outside Cinergy Amarillo

On Friday, October 24, fans had a chance to reminisce about the Dallas Cowboys’ glory days when the traveling exhibit pulled into the parking lot of Cinergy Amarillo for a visit.

The traveling exhibit featured history, memorabilia and interactive experiences for visitors to enjoy, including Super Bowl trophies and rings, a simulated locker room and life-size statues of Bob Lilly and Emmitt Smith. The exhibit also featured a Tom Landry display, former coach for the Cowboys during the early days of pro football.

In their heyday, the Cowboys won five Superbowls including 1972, 1978, 1993,1994, and 1996. There are 32 members of the Cowboys in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which includes 22 players and coaches who spent most of their careers with the team and 10 additional Hall of Famers who played or coached for the Cowboys but are not primarily associated with them.

Fans were able grab themed food and drinks (“Dak Attack” cocktail, Tailgate Platters, $1 Miller Lite bottles), play cornhole, and win prizes — including Cowboys tickets for the Dec. 14 game, later along with enjoying a live DJ, giveaways every hour, and free Rowdy towels + Cinergy footballs for attendees.

Technology on the museum on wheels included seven flat-screen monitors and a large outdoor LED screen for gameday broadcasts. The museum was presented by Miller Lite, a sponsor of the team.

The next nearest stop will be in Lubbock, Nov. 16-17 at 8208 Slide Road and then at Food King the following day.
