Section III Class A final at Camden High School

Sydney Mendiola and Madalyn Parry scored goals for Rome Free Academy which won its third consecutive Section III Class A championship. Amelia Capria scored for Baldwinsville.

Next Up: Rome Free Academy plays Section II champion Bethlehem in a November 5 sub-regional playoff back at Camden High School.

Section III Class A final at SUNY-Cortland

Elizabeth Rayhill scored two goals, Mikayla Jaros, Bria Nackley and Ella Stevenson each scored one, and Evie Ruggiero made one save in a shutout as New Hartford won a fifth consecutive Section III championship.

Next Up: New Hartford plays Section IV Maine-Endwell at 4 p.m. November 8 in the first half of a regional playoff doubleheader at Union-Endicott High School with the same schools’ boys playing the second match.

Alyssa Lessels’ goal broke a scoreless overtime tie and Makenna Dodge made two saves in the shutout as Vernon-Verona-Sherrill repeated as sectional champion with a second win this season against Camden.

Next Up: Vernon-Verona-Sherrill returns to Camden for sub-regional play November 5 against the Section II champion. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, the 2024 state champion, plays Queensbury in Section II’s November 2 championship game in Schuylerville.

Section III Class C final at Camden High School

Layla Rice and Leah Eck scored goals for the Mt. Markham Mustangs who shut out their ninth opponent of the season.

Next Up: Mt. Markham/Cooperstown plays the sectional Class D champion – Little Falls or Morrisville-Eaton – at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School Monday to determine Section III’s Class C representative for the three-class state tournament.

Section III Class D final at Camden High School

Jayden Regan scored three goals for Little Falls, Adriana Izzo scored one, and the Mounties won their third consecutive sectional championship. Abigail Leamer scored for Morrosville-Eaton.

Next Up: Little Falls plays Class C champion Mt. Markham/Cooperstown at Vernon-Verona-Sherill November 3 to determine the Section III entry in New York’s state Class C tournament. Little Falls defeated Mt. Markham twice during the regular season, shutting out the Mustangs 6-0 at home September 18 and 1-0 in Winfield October 6.

Section III Class A final at Jordan-Elbridge High School

Brendan Gruneich had one goal and two assists, Sandi Muric and Benjamin Stevens each had one and one, and Edvin Bubalo and Nicholas Dubon each scored a goal for New Hartford, and Tommy Wamelig was credited with a single save in the Spartans’ sixth consecutive shutout and 10th of the season.

Next Up: New Hartford plays Section IV Maine-Endwell at Union-Endicott High School in a regional playoff match November 8 at 6:30 p.m.. Central Valley Academy gets an at-large bid for the state tournament and plays a sub-regional match at Phoenix High School November 5 against Section X Franklin Academy of Malone, the team New Hartford defeated 11-1 in a similar round last fall.

Section III Class B final at Jordan-Elbridge High School

Next Up: Westhill plays Section X’s Class B champion in a November 5 sub-regional playoff in Phoenix. Canton and Ogdensburg Free Academy are the Section X finalists playing November 1.

Section III Class C final at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School

Tied at 1 at halftime, the newly merged Bishop Ludden-Grimes scored in the second half to earn the combined parochial school’s first Section III championship. Johnny Huddleston scored one goal and assisted Luke Ruddy on the other for Bishop Ludden-Grimes. Kerim Ikeljic scored a goal assisted by Nick Aulisi in teh first half for Frankfort-Schuyler.

Next Up: The Gaelic Knights of Bishop Ludden-Grimes play a November 8 regional playoff match at Chenango High School against the winner of Section IV’s November 1 final between Marathon and Seton Catholic of Binghamton.

Section III Class D final at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School

Hamilton led 2-1 at halftime and added four goals after halftime against a team it had beaten 1-0 on the road at an early season tournament. Junior Sawyer Latella scored three goals, Gavin Hames had two goals and one assist, Brody Houck scored one goal, and Jude Page-Fagon had two assists for the Emerald Knights who repeated as sectional champions with a fifth consecutive victory. Gavin Campbell scored for Fabius-Pompey.

Next Up: Hamilton travels to Potsdam for a November 5 sub-regional playoff match against the Section X champion, the winner of a November 2 match between Heuvelton and Colton-Pierrepont.

Issy Seamon scored the lone goal in the 66th minute for Richfield Springs/Owen D. Young which had previously beaten Edmeston/Morris for teh Tri-Valley League championship.

Aileen Carey, Riley Gallagher, Grecelyn Manderson and Josie Summa scored goals for Rome Free Academy, and Brooke Benson made six saves.

Next Up: Rome Free Academy, the No. 1 seed and defending champion, plays for a sectional championship November 1 against No. 2 Baldwinsville, a 1-0 winner over Cicero-North Syracuse.

Section III Class B semifinal at Camden High School

Kali Zydzik scored in the fourth quarter with an assist from Mckenzie Kopytowski for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, and Makenna Dodge made three saves in the shutout. New Hartford had beaten Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 2-0 on the road September 15.

Next Up: No. 1 Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, winner of six consecutive games, plays the November 1 final at Camden against the third-seeded host school, a team it defeated on its home field during the regular season.

Section III Class B semifinal at Camden High School

Rylie Meagher scored for Camden with an assist from Avery Morrison, and Katherine Dean made a single save in the shutout. Whitesboro goalie Kaydence Schmidt made two saves. Whitesboro had beaten Camden twice during the regular season in Tri-Valley League play.

Next Up: No. 3 Camden plays No. 1 Vernon-Verona-Sherrill in the November 1 final on its home field. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill was a 6-1 winner at home at Sheveron Stadium when the teams previously met September 18.

Ajdin Grabovica scored a goal assisted by Ajdin Mujic for Proctor and Ryan Hope scored for Liverpool during the second half. Khaled Mohamad made 10 saves for Proctor while Jacob McQuaters had three for LIverpool.

Next Up: No. 3 Proctor returns to Fulton October 30 to play for the championship against No. 1 Baldwinsville, a 1-0 winner over Syracuse’s Christian Brothers Academy.

Next Up: No. 1 New Hartford travels to SUNY-Cortland Sunday to play for a fifth consecutive sectional championship against No. 3 Jamesville-DeWitt, a semifinal winner in a penalty kick shootout over No. 2 Christian Brothers Academy of Syracuse.

Senior Kacie Owens scored a career-high three goals for Mt. Markham and Madeline Bard scored one and assisted on another for Mt. Markham, and goalie Ayva Kantor made three saves. Jordin Thomson Rivera scored the Canastota goal, and Christina McClure made six saves. Mt. Markham had previously defeated Canastota twice during the regular season.

Jayden Regan scored two goals, Alexa Eddy and Marya McCumber each scored one, and Adriana Izzo had two assists for Little Falls, and goalie Giuliana Izzo made one save in the Mounties’ sixth consecutive shutout, 10th in 11 games, and 12th of the season.

Next Up: No. 1 Little Falls and No. 2 Morrisville-Eaton return to Camden for the October 30 championship game. Little Falls defeated Morrisville-Eaton 3-0 at home September 30.

Section III Class D semifinal at Camden High School

Mikyla Broedel and Abigail Leamer each scored two goals for Morrisville-Eaton, Allyson McConnville scored one and had an assist, and Addison Shantal had two assists. Katie Randall scored both Clinton goals.

Section II Class C quarterfinal

Nyha Bonneau scored the Julia Elwood-assisted golden goal at the 13-minute mark in first overtime period for Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville. Lily Arduini and Callie Gray scored goals in the first half for Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville. Mia O’Brien scored both Waterford-Halfmoon goals, one before halftime, and one after.

Next Up: No. 5 Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville plays No. 1 Stillwater, a 5-0 winner over Mayfield, in the late October 30 semifinal match at Niskayuna High School.
