Truck parking at I-10 rest area will be closed for 120 days for improvement project

Beginning Monday, Oct. 20, the truck parking area at the Interstate 10 eastbound rest area at mile marker 60 will be closed for a 120-day period.

According to an FDOT news release, passenger vehicle parking and rest area facilities will remain open during construction.

Construction workers will be working on a $4.3 million rest area and truck parking improvement project that includes enhanced lighting, updated signage and upgrades to the Truck Parking Availability System.

Construction is estimated to be complete in late 2026.

 Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when driving through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
