It was a rough game for Notre Dame offensive lineman Billy Schrauth: He left the game against USC twice due to injury.
The second one seemed the more severe, and it didn’t look good. Following the game, coach Marcus Freeman was asked about his starter’s status, but he couldn’t provide an update. Instead, he commented on the effect Schrauth had on the game, which was big.
Freeman mentioned Schrauth was leading the team following the game, so that is a positive development. You’d have to think that if the injury was serious enough he would have already been in the locker room, that that’s encouraging.
It might be a little while until we find out what the injury diagnosis is, as the Irish will not play next week as they’ll travel to Boston College on Nov. 1.
