The hype is real surrounding Notre Dame football and its fate involving the 2026 college football season.
Rece Davis, the host of ESPN’s College GameDay recently went on record that he believes that the Irish will break its title drought dating back to 1988 by winning the College Football Playoff this coming campaign. He’s not the first to make this prediction, as Notre Dame has everything you are looking for in a title contender.
They return an elite defense with stars at every level, but most importantly, quarterback CJ Carr. He’s expected to take another leap following his first-year starting, one that could propel him into the NFL draft as a first-round pick.
Head coach Marcus Freeman has assembled an elite group of talent, most likely the most that he’s had since taking over the program. Recruiting has been fantastic over the last few cycles, and the influx of high-end players through the transfer portal has filled gaps in the roster.
Notre Dame is one of the favorites to win the championship this fall, and if it does come to fruition, the program could go to levels that has not been seen in a long time.
