Woman assaulted, killed identified by medical examiner's office, daughter arrested as suspect

Carrie Zettel was identified as the Milwaukee woman killed on Oct. 12, with her daughter named as the suspect, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Zettel, 64, was killed at about 2:33 p.m. on the 2200 block of West Ramsey Avenue, when a 29-year-old woman struck her in the head with a stone, according to a Milwaukee Police Department news release. Police arrested that woman and referred charges to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.

The medical examiner’s office said the suspect was Zettel’s daughter and the attack occurred at the mother’s home. Charges have yet to be filed, according to an online court case.
