The City of Macomb has lifted its open burn ban as of Sept. 22.
The decision comes after recent improvements in weather conditions, which have reduced the risk of accidental fires, according to a community announcement.
Residents can now resume open burning activities within city limits, provided they adhere to local ordinances. The Macomb Fire Department urges residents to practice safe burning habits and remain vigilant when using fire, according to the announcement.
Charcoal and gas grills should always be monitored while in use, and no fire should ever be left unattended. For more information, contact the Macomb Fire Department at 309-836-7800.
