ROWVA/Williamsfield volleyball player Sawyer Secrist was voted the Journal Star high school girls athlete of the week for Sept. 14-20.
Secrist put together a great week including a career milestone. The senior middle hitter capped a seven-match week by helping R/W win its own Fall E-Ball Tournament on Saturday. She posted 17 kills to beat Princeville in the title match. Secrist recorded 85 kills on the week including 55 in tournament play. That tally was highlighted by her 1,000th career kill.
