Wagyu steakhouse, ramen restaurant and more opening in new Nine Mile Road retail center

The latest addition to Nine Mile Road is wrapping up construction in the coming months with plans to bring a handful of new businesses to Ensley, including an upscale steakhouse by Sake Cafe chef and owner Wayan Sumadi.

The Cashiers Plaza retail center located at 620 E. Nine Mile Road will have enough space for seven tenants. The steakhouse will be named Prime and Beyond and will serve domestically-sourced Wagyu beef.

New Pensacola Fair rules ban all weapons, require clear bags

Pensacola Interstate Fair officials are instituting new safety measures this year that include a no weapons policy and a clear bag requirement for everything except diaper bags and medically necessary bags.

The Board of Directors modified their new policy to allow those exceptions within a couple of hours after announcing the policy, based on community feedback.

Under the new rules, weapons of any kind — including firearms — will not be permitted on the fairgrounds at any time regardless of whether the individual holds a concealed carry permit.

The faith-based, affordable home ownership organization Habitat for Humanity is primarily known for building and selling homes to first-time home buyers, but Pensacola Habitat for Humanity is expanding affordable housing opportunities through a new home rental program.

Blue Angels Homecoming Show at NAS Pensacola pushed back one week

The annual Blue Angels Homecoming Show onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola has been delayed a week to accommodate an “unexpected commitment” for the Blue Angels.

The Homecoming show originally scheduled for Nov. 7-8 is now scheduled for Nov. 14-15.

On its original date, the Blue Angels will instead fly at the 250th celebration of the U.S. Navy.
