Costco Wholesale Corp. has purchased the site for its future Oconomowoc store, paving the way to begin construction this fall.

The Issaquah, Washington-based company paid $6.4 million for a 23.3-acre site along Pabst Farms Boulevard, according to a deed posted by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue on Sept. 17.

The site was sold by Northbrook Illinois-based Pabst Farms Land Co. I LLC, the deed said.

Another deed showed a portion of that site being sold to Costco by Northbrook-based Stonebridge Capital Unit II LLC for $692,500.

The 161,500-square-foot store will be west of Sawyer Road and just north of Interstate 94.

There’s no word yet on when construction will start and the store will open. Costco doesn’t comment on new stores projected to open more than three months into the future, according to the company’s website.

Some documents filed with the City of Oconomowoc indicated Costco plans to begin construction this year and open in 2026.

Costco disclosed its plans for the Pabst Farms store in April. It received final city approvals in August.
