The Washington Commanders tried to single block him, double-team him, chip him and even triple-team him. It didn’t matter. Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons proved he is a certified game-wrecker at edge rusher once again.
According to both Pro Football Focus and Next Gen Stats, Parsons finished Thursday night’s win over the Commanders with a team-high eight total pressures on 41 pass-rushing snaps. He had a sack of Jayden Daniels and two other quarterback hits during a dominant effort up front from the Packers defensive front.
Per PFF, Parsons had a pass-rush win percentage of 23.7 and earned an elite pass-rushing grade of 90.6.
Per NGS, six of Parsons’ eight pressures came in the second half.
On his sack, Parsons unleashed a wicked cross-over move on right tackle Josh Conerly Jr., won immediately and powered through a holding penalty to take down Daniels. Twice, he worked through double teams to create a pressure, including on the game’s first down. Later, he beat Conerly clean, blew right past the chip attempt from the running back and immediately pressured Daniels. Also in the first half, Parsons stunted from an interior aligment and drew a penalty on the right guard. In the second half, the Commanders attempted to block him with the right tackle and right guard and some help from the running back, but Parsons split the block, ran over the running back and flushed Daniels out of the pocket. Laremy Tunsil false started on one play with Parsons aligned in front of him.
