Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter debuted new cleats ahead of his first regular-season game.
Hunter wore a brand new pair of Anthony Edwards 1 cleats during pregame warmups, as advertised in a commercial by Adidas over the weekend.
In the commercial, Hunter is fishing as Edwards tries to call him to tell him about the cleats. After not being able to reach Hunter, Edwards leaves a voicemail.
“I heard you got a big game coming up this weekend and I knew you’d be out there on the lake,” Edwards said in the video. “I left a little surprise in your cooler. Check them out when you can and let me know what you think.”
It’s the first pair of football cleats in the AE lineage, modeled after the debut silhouette of the NBA player’s brand. Hunter is the first athlete to wear the cleats, with a release date to come later this year.
The cleats have a white base with black laces and midsole, mirroring the “Stormtrooper” AE 1 colorway that released in 2024.
Hunter had multiple commercials debut in the last few weeks, with an ad alongside quarterback Trevor Lawrence released a few days ago.
Hunter is expected to be featured on both sides of the ball during his debut—something he’s done at every level he’s played.
After being selected second overall in April’s draft, Hunter will be tasked with helping turn around the Jaguars, and that process starts today.
