2028 in-state WR commits to FSU

Florida State is seeing early dividends for its upset of the No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. After getting 2026 three-star wide receiver Jonah Winston to commit after the win, 2028 three-star wide receiver Lamar Garrison did the same on Sunday. He’s the first commitment of the cycle for the Seminoles.

Rivals’ industry rankings have Garrison as the No. 218 recruit in the nation and the No. 42 wide receiver. They also ranked the 6-foot, 165-pounder as the No. 33 prospect in the state of Florida.

Garrison took an unofficial visit on Jan. 18 and received an offer from FSU five days later. He made another unofficial visit in April and he was in Tallahassee for a summer camp in June before his visit this weekend.

When asked why he chose Florida State, Garrison has this to say:

“The love they show me every time I come up there was like no other college,” Garrison told Noles247. “It was nothing but right to do it.”

The Leesburg High School product was absolutely electric as a freshman last season. Garrison finished with 70 receptions for 1,022 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also played some cornerback and hauled in an interception.
