(Update: Micah Parsons has been traded to the Green Bay Packers)
The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons still have not agreed to a resolution after the star pass rusher requested a trade on Aug. 1. He’s seeking a long-term contract but with negotiations stalled, the finish line is nowhere in sight.
On Thursday, ESPN reported that the Cowboys are now listening to trade offers for Parsons, which is a shift from their previously reported reluctance to even explore the possibility of trading him.
Might the Los Angeles Rams be interested? Yes, they have Jared Verse and Byron Young, with Josaiah Stewart as the projected third option. However, Parsons is an All-Pro defender who completely changes the complexion of any defense.
ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky posted on social media Thursday that he thinks the Rams should consider making a move for Parsons, along with the Bills, Ravens and Packers.
Parsons is seeking a record-setting contract, which the Rams will have a hard time giving out, especially with Verse, Kobie Turner, Puka Nacua and several other young stars to pay in the coming years.
They do have two first-round picks in 2026 that they can use as trade chips, but for a team that will need to draft a quarterback soon, giving those away may not be the best course of action.
The fact that the Cowboys are even (reportedly) entertaining offers is interesting but that doesn’t mean they’re likely to trade him.
