Iowa State football: Cyclone Helmet Cart returning to Jack Trice Stadium in 2025

Four-wheel fun is returning to Jack Trice Stadium.

Beginning with the Cyclones’ Aug. 30 home opener against South Dakota, the Cyclone Helmet Cart will be back in the building. The helmet cart, now powered by Iowa Farm Bureau, was a key part of Iowa State football gamedays in the 1980s before being retired in the mid-1990s.

“We are excited to unveil our new helmet cart this weekend against South Dakota and restoring this tradition to Cyclone Football game days this fall,” Iowa State athletics director Jamie Pollard said in a school release. “We are grateful for the generous support of Iowa Farm Bureau as well as the hard work and dedication of all of Iowa’s farmers in helping to feed the World.”

The helmet cart currently has no official role on Saturdays, more so just a piece of the past that Iowa State fans can cherish while inside Jack Trice Stadium. Iowa Farm Bureau senior marketing manager Dana Ardary calls the helmet cart “a tribute to the enduring spirit of Iowa’s farmers and the values we share with Iowa State University.”

“Hard work, determination, and that unstoppable ‘get-up-and-go’ attitude have always driven our agricultural community forward,” Ardary continued in a release. “Iowa Farm Bureau is honored to sponsor this iconic symbol and celebrate the deep roots between Iowa farming and Cyclone pride.”
