If you haven’t been playing the Texas Lottery, it might be time to get a ticket for the Powerball.
The Powerball jackpot for the Saturday, Aug. 30, drawing currently stands at an estimated annuitized $950 million, Lottery officials said. There was no winner on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
This is the game’s largest prize of the year and biggest since the April 6, 2024, drawing when an out-of-state player won an estimated annuitized $1.326 billion jackpot prize.
Saturday’s Powerball drawing ranks as the sixth largest in game history and offers a cash value worth an estimated $428.9 million. It will be the 39th in the current jackpot run, since it started as an estimated annuitized $20 million for the June 2 drawing.

There were no Powerball jackpot or 2nd prize winners in Texas for the drawing on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

The next Powerball drawing will occur at 10:12 p.m. Saturday. Aug. 30. Note that ticket sales for the Powerball drawing will close at 8 p.m. MT on Saturday.

The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.87. All odds are based on a $2 play and rounded to two decimal places.
How much is a Powerball ticket?
Powerball costs $2 per play. In Idaho and Montana, it is bundled with Power Play for a minimum purchase of $3 per play, according to the Powerball website.
Where to buy Powerball tickets
Powerball tickets in Texas are only available for purchase in person at more than 19,000 licensed brick-and-mortar Texas Lottery retail locations statewide. Ticket sales for the next Powerball drawing will close at 8 p.m. MT on Saturday.
