Where are the Rams in the waiver order? Everything to know about NFL waivers

Now that the Los Angeles Rams have cut their roster down to 53 players, they will begin the process of determining whether there are any recently waived players that they want to claim. Sean McVay, Les Snead and their group will look through the waiver wire and potentially try to add a player (or players) who was cut by another team.

They can submit a claim on as many players as they’d like but for every player they’re awarded, they’ll have to create a roster spot by moving someone off the active 53-man squad. And there are a lot of teams ahead of the Rams in the waiver order that could prevent them from landing a player they covet.

Here’s a look at the complete waiver order following cutdown day. It follows the original 2025 NFL Draft order, which means the Rams are once again 26th.

2025 NFL waiver order

Where are the Rams in the waiver order?

The Rams are 26th in the order currently. The order will remain the same through the first three weeks of the regular season. After that, it will go by each team’s current record and overall standings.

NFL waiver rules

Teams are allowed to submit claims on players who were waived, not released. A player is subject to waivers if he has less than four accrued seasons in the NFL. An accrued season is when he is on an active roster for at least six games.

Players who have at least four accrued seasons are not subject to waivers and become free agents, meaning they can sign with another team as soon as they’re released.

If two teams submit a claim on the same player, the team higher in the waiver order will be awarded that player. A team can submit as many waiver claims as it likes, but it must create space on the roster in order to add that new player.

When do waivers begin?

Teams have until 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday to submit their waiver claims. At that point, players will then begin to find out whether they’ve been claimed or not.

What if a player isn’t claimed on Wednesday?

If a player isn’t claimed off waivers, he will then become a free agent. He can either sign to a team’s 53-man roster or to a practice squad. He can even sign to the practice squad of the team that cut him.
