GREEN BAY − Isaiah Simmons’ time with the Green Bay Packers has come to an end.
The Packers released Simmons during the NFL’s roster cutdown day, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Simmons signed with the Packers on a one-year deal in April after the NFL draft with the hopes to find his footing on an NFL roster but failed to make the team’s 53-man roster.
Simmons was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, playing there for three seasons before he was traded to the New York Giants. He spent two seasons there before coming to Green Bay.
He hasn’t been able to find his positional fit through his six-year career, trying linebacker, defensive end, safety and cornerback.
Wanting to tap into his athleticism – sporting a 4.39-second 40-yard dash and 39-inch vertical in his 6-foot-4, 238-pound frame – the Packers used Simmons at linebacker through camp. He had 19 combined tackles and two tackles on special teams in preseason games but struggled in pass coverage and couldn’t find consistency when on the field.
Simmons will be looking for his fourth team in six seasons.
