Who will JT Toppin, Texas Tech basketball host during 2025-26 non-conference schedule?

The Texas Tech basketball team announced the home portion of its 2025-26 non-conference schedule on Thursday.

The Red Raiders will play 13 non-conference games this season, seven of which are at home inside United Supermarkets Arena. Matchups against Arkansas and Duke have been reported but not yet announced by Tech.

Texas A&M’s trip to Lubbock, and the start of the previously agreed home-and-home series, is once again on hold. The Avalanche-Journal reported this possibility back in May.

Texas Tech begins non-conference play with the season opener on Nov. 4 against Lindenwood. Grant McCasland’s squad will then host Sam Houston State on Nov. 7 before heading to Champaign to take on Illinois on Nov. 11.

The Red Raiders return home for a Nov. 14 contest against Milwaukee before playing two games in the Baha Mar Championship, where they’ll play Wake Forest on Nov. 20 and either Purdue or Memphis on Nov. 21.

A pair of home games — Nov. 26 against New Orleans and Nov. 30 against Wyoming — await Texas Tech before it returns to Fort Worth for the US LBM Coast-to-Coast Showdown for the third year in a row. The Red Raiders will take on LSU on Dec. 7 in Dickies Arena.

Six days will be between the LSU game and the previously reported game against Arkansas on Dec. 13 in American Airlines Center in Dallas. The Dec. 20 game against Duke at Madison Square Garden will be sandwiched between home contests against Northern Colorado (Dec. 16) and Winthrop (Dec. 28).

The Red Raiders were previously set to host New Orleans on Dec. 22, per game contracts obtained by the A-J. That game has been moved to Nov. 26 to accommodate new neutral-site events.

That also occurred with Wyoming’s return trip to Lubbock. The Cowboys were originally contracted to play Tech on Nov. 19, but that game was moved to the following week due to Tech’s inclusion in the Baha Mar Championship in the Bahamas.
