Since its official opening in 1992, the Southeast Museum of Photography has become a beacon of art, culture, and education for Daytona State College and the community.
It is now one of only 13 facilities in the United States dedicated exclusively to photography, among only a handful of such institutions nationally that share a scope, reach and depth of collection and activities in this specific field.
The museum embraces Daytona State College’s emphasis on teaching and learning, and channels that mission through the medium of photography.
In this way, the Southeast Museum of Photography enhances the community’s understanding and appreciation of culture, history, art and photography.
In addition to rotating quarterly exhibitions, the Southeast Museum of Photography also organizes free public lectures, panel discussions, artistic workshops, and educational programs for adults, students and children.
