The 77-year-old driver of the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that hit Kent told police she had been northbound on Liberty Drive and was turning west onto Third Street. She said the traffic light had turned yellow and when she did not see any oncoming traffic, she began turning west onto Third Street.

The driver said she never saw Kent. “The driver fully cooperated with investigators and did not display any signs of impairment,” the news release said.

Police interviewed witnesses and are cheecking security camera video from businesses at the intersection as the investigation continues.
