Aliyah Boston avoids injury despite exiting Indiana Fever loss to Portland Fire early

PORTLAND — Aliyah Boston avoided an injury scare in the Indiana Fever loss against Portland on Saturday.

Boston, who is still playing on a minutes restriction after suffering a right lower leg injury in Unrivaled in February, came up limping after a layup with five minutes left. She limped over to the bench during the timeout, and sat down to let trainers work on her left leg.

The Fever’s athletic staff worked on her leg for a couple minutes, including using a massage gun, before Boston stood up and walked around normally. Boston never went back to the locker room, staying on the bench for the final five minutes of Indiana’s 100-84 loss.

Thankfully for the Fever (4-4), though, it wasn’t anything serious.

“I’m good,” Boston said postgame. “It was just a cramp.”

Boston led the Fever on Saturday with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting in 25 minutes.
