A so-called ‘kiss cam’ moment at a Coldplay concert has gone viral after it captured a couple embracing in Foxborough, Massachusetts, with online speculation that the pair were having an affair.
The two appeared to be in ultimate bliss and smiling until they appeared on a jumbotron on July 16. Upon realizing they were on camera, the woman turned around to hide her face, and the man ducked down, seeming to gesture for the camera to move on.
“Uh oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” Martin joked.
Internet sleuths claimed to identify the couple in the viral video, with commenters investigating their supposed jobs, employers and marital status. USA TODAY has reached out for comment.
Mountain fans in El Paso
El Paso had its own viral moment at Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” tour, after the band played a pair of sold-out shows on June 13 and 14 at the El Paso Sun Bowl.
Dozens of fans climbed a mountain and watched the concert from the hillside — they too were caught on the jumbotron and were acknowledged by Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
Martin freestyled about the crowd watching the show for free and made light of the situation.
“Hello, my beautiful brothers and sisters,” Martin said. “I hope you get some good sleep, your tickets were very cheap.”
The crowd then erupted in laughter.
