Tweedy this week announced his new triple album “Twilight Override,” slated for release September 26. The Peoria stop is part of his accompanying tour. Four songs from the album are already released: “One Tiny Flower,” “Out in the Dark,” “Stray Cats in Spain” and “Enough.”

Who is Jeff Tweedy?

Born in Belleville in 1967, Tweedy attended Belleville Township High School West and began playing guitar at 12 years old. He attended concerts and toured frequently around St. Louis with his band Uncle Tupelo, which he formed with other Belleville West classmates Jay Farrar and Mike Heidorn.

In 1994, Tweedy formed Wilco. The alternative rock group has since released 13 albums and become known for a country-inspired indie sound, some of their most popular songs including “Jesus, Etc.,” “Via Chicago” and “Misunderstood.”
