FSU was one of the hottest programs on the recruiting trail in June with 12 total commitments for the 2026 cycle. Now that the calendar has flipped to July, Florida State could be heading towards another as four-star linebacker Duyon Forkpa has set his commitment date for Jul. 12 and the Seminoles are one of the four schools he’ll choose from.
Forkpa is the No. 240 overall player and the nation’s No. 15 linebacker per 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 38 prospect out of Florida.
Florida State offered Forkpa last June when they hosted him for a summer camp, and they’ve been consistent with having him on campus since. Forkpa took unofficial visits to Tallahassee last October and November, and he’s been on campus several times in 2025, which includes FSU’s Junior Day in February.
The Seminoles also hosted Forkpa on Jun. 6 for an official visit. The other three contenders have all done the same since the end of May. So, it will be intriguing to see if FSU did enough to land one of the best linebackers in the country.
