Texas A&M catcher will transfer to prestigious former Pac 12 program

Texas A&M’s 2025 transfer portal losses included several backup players, including catcher Jacob Galloway, who transferred to the Aggies last offseason from USC. At the start of the 2025 season, Galloway battled with Saint Mary’s transfer Bear Harrison, who ended up winning the starting catcher job and will return for the 2026 season as the starter.

Knowing this, Galloway entered the portal with plenty of experience, and while it didn’t work out in College Station, we’ve seen players rebound once they find a new home time and time again. It’s also notable that during his first season with the Trojans, Galloway slashed .365/.425/.524, and was a high-ranking prospect from the prestigious Harvard Westlake (CA) program.

While his .220 batting average in 20 games with the Aggies was less than stellar, it has been reported that Galloway has found a new home, as he is headed to Oregon State to join one of the top baseball programs in the country, as the Beavers are coming off their eighth College World Series appearance.

Oregon State’s 2025 roster included catchers Bryce Hubbard, Wilson Weber, and Martin Serrano, and while Weber and Hubbard are slated to return, Galloway has a great chance to regain his starting status and get back to hitting at a more consistent rate.
