The Green Bay Police Department may return to the TV show “Cops” after appearing on the show in 2016, according to a June 16 news release.
Bystanders to a June 12 arrest made by Green Bay police officers at Bay Beach Amusement Park filmed the arrest and several videos were posted to social media. The department shared a news release June 16 responding to the videos and confirmed a camera crew visible in the footage was with “COPS TV.”
The police department previously appeared on “Cops” in episode 13 of season 29, titled “Thanks for Nothing, Mom.” The show has been on the air since 1989, and follows officers across the country.
In the news release, the department said the arrest occurred “following the report of a suspicious person who allegedly made uncomfortable comments to a park employee and caused fear.” The suspect resisted arrest and officers used force to take him into custody, the release said.
