Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick Shemar Stewart has left the team during mandatory minicamp.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Stewart has left minicamp early on the final day amid his contract standoff with the team.

Schefter wrote the following: “Stewart had been attending team activities, but without a signed contract and with the Bengals asking for certain clauses, no longer.”

Stewart ripped the Bengals in the media after showing up to minicamp this week and was again with his teammates, but not participating, during practices.
Now, he departs early as the standoff continues. Stewart and his reps are angry with the Bengals reportedly attempting to change their typical language in how they void guarantees in contracts, starting with his contract.
While Bengals practice concluded at 10 a.m. on the day this news emerged, the fact Stewart and his reps announced it seems like another public expression of their frustration with the contract standoff.
