Wet-n-Wild Aquatic Plants
What: Learn about the many plants that thrive in an aquatic habitat, including a spotlight on cattails. Take a hike to the lake and look for plants and animals that make the water their home. Class is held outdoors, with a nature walk through the woods, so dress for the weather.

Juneteenth 2025
What: Celebrate Juneteenth’s heritage in the historic heart of Galesburg. This city is rooted in abolitionist values and is home to Knox College, which proudly preserves the last remaining building associated with the legendary Lincoln-Douglas debates. The kickoff morning will be filled with music, stories and community connection. The celebration continues with music, vendors and food. Keep an eye out for Juneteenth Pageant winners, who will be honored guests throughout the day. There will be a Juneteenth Unity Bracelet Workshop at 12:39 p.m. at the Discovery Depot Children’s Museum and a Juneteenth Art Drop-In at 1 p.m. at the Galesburg Community Arts Center. At 4 p.m., take in “We’ve Come This Far by Faith,” at Central Congregational Church. This is a performance tracing the journey from the Transatlantic Slave Trade to the Underground Railroad.

Poker Run
What: This annual fundraiser for the Cat ‘n Around Rescue includes poker run, 50/50 Raffle, live and silent auctions, food and entertainment. Jera & the Absoluts will play from 4-7 p.m., with DJ Tyson from 8 p.m. – midnight. Registration from 9-11 a.m., with kickstands up at 11 a.m.

The Swan Princess
What: Dancers’ Studio end of the school year performance presents The Swan Princess, based on the legendary Swan Lake Ballet. The magical ballet tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by a sorcerer’s curse. The spell can only be broken if someone who has never loved before swears an oath of undying love and promises to marry her. Ballet performance will open with Tap & Jazz performances.

Annual Veteran and Senior Fair
What: Come access the resources of the Illinois Lions Club Hearing & Vision Screening Bus. There will be blood pressure screenings, vendor information, a prescription medicine disposal, giveaways and prizes. The Carriage House is providing a continental breakfast.
