Wall baseball’s Gunnar Dillard leads a handful of West Texas, San Angelo honorees on the UIL’s All-State Baseball Tournament teams announced this week.
The Hawks defeated Thrall 14-2, leading to the program’s second championship and first since 2019.
The season marked Wall’s fourth appearance in the state final. They made trips in 2017, 2019 and 2023.
Dillard, an Oklahoma baseball signee, was the MVP of the Class 3A Division II state tournament. He finished going 3-4 with three runs, one triple and three RBIs.
Wall’s Gage Reichenau (pitcher), Jacob Braden (second base), Reid Ballard (third base), Caleb Braden (shortstop), Kellan Oliver (outfield) and Hagyn Barbee (outfield) were named to the Class 3A DII team.
Reichenau allowed two runs in six innings and struck out four, Jacob Braden went 3-4 with one run and three RBIs, Ballard went 1-3, one run and one RBI, Caleb Braden finished 2-3 with two runs and an RBI, Oliver went 2-3 with three runs and Barbee finished 3-4 with two runs and an RBI.
