Tracy Pletcher was sworn in on May 19 as the replacement for Mary Gutman, who stepped down in early May because of her family moving to Columbus. Gutman’s term was due to expire Dec. 31, 2027, and Pletcher said she plans to run for a full term in the November 2027 election.

“I’m typically the one working behind the scenes, but when this opportunity arose, I saw it was my chance to step forward and give back to the community,” Pletcher said. “I’m confident that I have much to contribute to this community. As a long-time resident, I’m committed to working hard to ensure Tallmadge remains a beautiful, thriving and safe place for all who call it home.”

Pletcher graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1991 and attended the Academy of Court Reporting, where she received her certificate in Law Office Management. She currently works for the Summit County Law Department as the records manager, and has worked for the county for 22 years. For 10 years prior to working in the public sector, Pletcher said she worked for various law firms as a legal assistant/paralegal.
