From Coldplay to cannabis fest, June brings big shows, celebrations to El Paso area

June, which began the meteorological summer on June 1, will be jam packed with cool concerts, events and things to do.

For starters, many El Pasoans are looking forward to two nights with Coldplay Friday and Saturday, June 13-14, at the Sun Bowl.

Father’s Day, Juneteenth and Pride Month are also big deals for celebrations in June, with public events to attend around town.

It’s also a good time to check out new festivals in the area, such as Mango Del Sol, the first major music festival hosted by a cannabis company, on Sunday, June 22 at the dispensary, located at 1051 McNutt Road in Sunland Park, New Mexico.

“We wanted to do something that’s never been done before,” said Kevin Pattah, Mango’s CEO and co-founder. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Sunland Park and its surrounding communities than to combine two mediums that bring people together: music and cannabis.”

El Paso Sal Y Limon Street Festival 2025

The El Paso Sal Y Limon Street Festival 2025 will feature music, tacos, live lucha and refreshments at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at San Jacinto Plaza. Entertainment will include Los Tucanes De Tijuana and Corazon de Mana, (a Mana tribute band). Kids 12 and under are free. Tickets, starting at $48.69 are available at salylimonfestival.com

Pride Month kicks off at Touch Bar

Touch Bar, 11395 James Watt St., is the place to be during Pride Month with fun and talented drag shows throughout the month. Among the featured queens coming are Sam Star, RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 finalist, on Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15, and Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Drag Race All Stars Season 10, hosting Haus of Ru 4 on Friday and Saturday, June 20-21.

Enjoy the popular Drag Brunches at 1:30 p.m. Sundays. Doors open at noon. Brunch items include chicken and waffles, Mexican machaca, rolled tacos, French toast and chilaquiles.

Coldplay coming to El Paso for 2 nights

Coldplay will bring its Music of the Sphere World Tour to El Paso with shows June 13-14 at the Sun Bowl. Tickets through the UTEP Ticket Office are sold out. However, you can still get verified resale tickets to the shows. Tickets range from $168 to $818, plus fees, via Ticketmaster.com.

Cherry Festival returns for Father’s Day weekend

The Nichols Ranch and Orchards in La Luz, N.M. will have its Sixth Annual Cherry Festival Father’s Day weekend, June 13-15, at 236 Cottonwood Canyon Road. The festival will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, June 13, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 15. General admission tickets are $10 plus fees, available at eventbrite.com

The festival draws thousands of people with its cherry trees as well as numerous vendors selling everything from street tacos and barbecued items to arts and crafts and freeze-dried candies.

Anime El Paso 2025

Anime fans will have a blast meeting voice actors and creators, attending panels, and participating in cosplay at Anime El Paso 2025, taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15.

Guests will include Jason Marnocha, known for voice roles as Prince Renathal in the video game World of Warcraft, among others. He has voice acted in other television series, including JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Dragon Ball Absalon, Sirius the Jaeger and Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty. Also appearing will be John Gremillion, a stage, film and voice actor who has worked in anime for more than 20 years.

Juneteenth 2025

Join the city of El Paso and Black El Paso Voice in celebrating Juneteenth at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at Nations Tobin Park, 8831 Railroad Drive. For more information, go to www.epjuneteenth.com

Pepe Aguilar with Lupita Infante at the Inn of the Mountain Gods

Popular Mexican singers Pepe Aguilar and Lupita Infante will perform Thursday, June 19 at the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Ruidoso. Showtime will be 8 p.m. Tickets are $113 to $339, plus fees, are available at Ticketmaster.com

Starr Western Wear Rodeo 2025

The Starr Western Wear Rodeo returns June 20-22 at the El Paso County Coliseum. Show times will be 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets start at $71 plus fees, available at tickets-center.com

Pride Parade 2025

The lively annual Pride Parade 2025 will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21 at City Hall and end at Houston Park, 900 Montana Ave. After the parade, the Houston Park will have a family-friendly post-parade picnic with free music, food, non-alcoholic drinks, and drag performances. Sun City Craft Festival 2025

The Sun City Craft Beer Festival 2025, the largest craft beer festival in El Paso, returns Saturday. June 21 at the El Paso Convention Center. This year’s festival will feature a new format, starting later in the day to keep guests cool. The event will start at 5 p.m. with indoor beer sampling and live entertainment, followed by the Beerlympics at 7:30 p.m. and culminating with the Aurellia’s Beer Bash from 8 to 10 p.m.

Mango Del Sol festival

Mango Cannabis is gearing up for its first music festival, Mango de Sol, on Sunday, June 22 at the open lot of the dispensary. The festival will be headlined by hip hop artists That Mexican OT & OhGeezy, Paul Wall, Baby Bash and Play-N-Skillz. Opening performances will be El Paso’s own Krystall Poppin, Natalie, Coyote and El Dusty.

There will be comedic performances and an art exhibit. It will be a day-long celebration of music and food, with more than 2,000 exclusive goodie bags handed out. The grand opening will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mango Cannabis Sunland Park, with the music festival commencing at 2 p.m. and concluding at 10:45 p.m.

Customers will be granted entry to the festival upon a product purchase of $50 or more, or they can be purchased via MangoDelSol.com, which will redirect to HoldMyTicket.com. Tickets are per person and non-transferable. The event is 21+.

Juneteenth Jazz Arts Festival in Las Cruces

Las Cruces’ Footprints group will round out this year’s Juneteenth celebration in Las Cruces with a performance on Sunday, June 22, at the Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St. in Las Cruces. Internationally known jazz bassist Nat Reeves will take the stage as the festival’s special guest. Free.

Sugar Ray to perform as part of Pop Goes the Fort!

The Independence Day celebrations will start early with Pop the Fort June 28 at Biggs Park, 11388 Sergeant Major Blvd. The event will feature Sugar Ray, Free Daps and the First Armored Division Band, fireworks and food. Gates will open at 4 p.m. Open to the public; a Fort Bliss Community Access Pass is needed.

Patrons not affiliated with Fort Bliss can now obtain a Community Access Pass at the Buffalo Soldier Visitor Control Center located at Bldg. 5400, open 24 hours a day. Visitors can also go to the Chaffee Visitor Control Center located at Bldg. 2616, Monday-Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information: 915-588-8247.
