The NFL will officially roll out the 2025 regular season schedule on Wednesday night but there will be several primetime announcements and substantial leaks leading up to that release.
New York Giants fans will be keeping a close eye on things with renewed optimism that the franchise is finally beginning to turn a corner despite an ugly campaign in 2024.

Giants 2025 schedule: What we know so far
Little is known about the Giants’ schedule to date. There was some speculation that they would open the season against the Dallas Cowboys after an apparent Jerry Jones slip-up, but that won’t be the case. Dallas will instead open on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.
New York Giants opponents in 2025
In addition to their home-and-home series against their NFC East rivals, the Giants will face the NFC North and AFC West this coming season. They will also square off against the same-place finishers from the NFC South, NFC West, and AFC East.
Home: Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington, Green Bay, Kansas City, L.A. Chargers, Minnesota, San Francisco
Away: Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Las Vegas, New England, New Orleans
Giants’ strength of schedule
If the Giants are going to find success in 2025, it won’t come easy. Based on 2024 win totals, New York faces the toughest strength of schedule (.574) in the NFL. Their opponents compiled an overall record of 166-123.
Even based on projected 2025 win totals, the Giants would still face the league’s toughest strength of schedule.
Giants’ prime-time games
Teams can play a maximum of six prime-time games and while the Giants don’t scream “national attraction” after a 3-14 finish last season, NFL schedule makers still view them as a cash cow.
“You know, everybody just kind of looks at the record and thinks, ‘Oh they they must be terrible.’ They really weren’t — as somebody who lives in New York and watched most Giants games — like it felt like they were in most games last year, even with the rotating quarterbacks and all the injuries they had,” NFL vice president of broadcast planning Mike North said on the It’s Always Gameday in Buffalo podcast.
“I think the Giants have a really interesting schedule. I’m not sure if we’re going to put them in six or seven prime time games [as we prepare] in May, but you’re going to find yourself playing a lot of big games maybe down the stretch that matter if they can be competitive.”
Giants predictions, picks: How many games will Big Blue win?
The early over-under on wins, as set by BetMGM, has the Giants at 5.5 games, the second-lowest total in the NFL behind the Cleveland Browns (4.5). That also places them dead last in the NFC East behind the Philadelphia Eagles (11.5), Washington Commanders (9.5), and Dallas Cowboys (7.5).
In addition to the Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens were also given an over-under of 11.5, the best in the league.
What do Giants want to see on 2025 schedule?
The Giants won’t log many air miles in 2025 with much of their away schedule on the eastern half of the United States. Their longest road trip will be to Las Vegas, and they’d probably prefer playing Chicago and Detroit in back-to-back weeks, allowing them to remain in the area.
If you were to assume additional schedule preferences, the Giants would probably like to avoid both Denver and New England in the middle of a harsh winter.
