Michigan State basketball is looking to finalize their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season, and get the right pieces in the right spots for another deep run in the NCAA Tournament next spring. With only 10 scholarship players on the roster right now, Michigan State has room to add more pieces to the puzzle.
While a backup point guard is of the upmost importance right now, and the Spartans are in heavy pursuit of Miami (FL) transfer Divine Ugochukwu, the Spartans could be looking to add one more body to their frontcourt.
It has already been reported that the Spartans are looking around Europe for a backup point guard, and in their looks, they might have found themselves a center to potentially add to the mix.
Lewis Obiorah is a native of England, playing for the Barking Abbey Basketball Academy in London. He is a 7-foot-2 center that possesses a 7-foot-7 wingspan.
Rumors started circling around the MSU social media circles that the Spartans are in secret pursuit of the prospect from England. The Sleepers Media team touched on this rumor, while Spartan fans on X have noted that Obiorah and many around the MSU basketball program are exchanging follows on social media.
The English center prospect would be an awesome add to fill the void left by Szymon Zapala, eating up a limited amount of minutes, while also being the next project for the Spartans staff to build with in the coming years.
Obiorah was named the English Basketball Player of the Year this past season with a stellar 10.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game performance over the course of the season.

While nothing official has linked the Spartans to the English center, where there is smoke, there is usually fire, and the Spartans may be looking to make this addition in the coming weeks.
