Wisconsin volleyball earns top 10 ranking in 2026 AVCA Preseason Poll

The 2026 college volleyball season will be here in under two weeks, and the AVCA Preseason Poll has officially been released.

To no surprise, the No. 1 team is Nebraska. The Cornhuskers received 1568 total points, which was 141 more than Texas who came in at No. 2.

For reference, the gap between No. 2 Texas and No. 3 Kentucky is only 29 total points. From there, No. 4 Pittsburgh is only 15 total points behind the Wildcats.

Stanford comes in at No. 5 while the Wisconsin Badgers give the Big Ten a second representation in not only the top 10, but the top six.

Purdue comes in at No. 9 with Penn State following at No. 10, so in total, the Big Ten has four teams ranked in the top 10 of the 2026 AVCA Preseason Poll.

Interestingly, Nebraska received 57 first-place votes while Kentucky, despite being ranked behind Texas, had four votes, with the Longhorns only receiving one. The only other team to receive a vote was No. 8 Texas A&M.
