Wisconsin football vs Michigan instant reaction: Wolverines outlast tough Badgers effort

The Wisconsin Badgers fell 24-10 to the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday afternoon.

After Wisconsin held tough with Michigan through the entire first half, two key second-half touchdowns from the Michigan offense built a margin that Luke Fickell’s team could not overcome. Indiana transfer receiver Donaven McCulley led that effort, finishing with six catches, 112 yards and a touchdown. Michigan star freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood also had a strong day; he completed 18 of 27 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown, plus added 12 yards on the ground.

Offensive struggles defined the Badgers’ afternoon. After a strong opening touchdown drive, the team managed just 177 total yards over the rest of the game. Wisconsin’s limited offensive production helped Michigan wear down a strong Badger defense, leading to the mentioned late-second-half success.

The Badgers drop to 2-3 (0-2 Big Ten) with the loss, while Michigan improves to 4-1 (2-0 Big Ten). For more on how the game played out, here is our live tracker and game recap.
