The Wisconsin Badgers football program has had no shortage of great running backs come through the ranks.
The likes of Ron Dayne, Jonathan Taylor, Monte Ball, and Melvin Gordon all come to mind, but recently it was Braelon Allen who drew a ton of attention.
The New York Jets running back made quite a name for himself in Madison as he ran for 3,494 yards and 35 touchdowns from 2021-23. Now, Allen is looking to the next generation. Four-star running back Kingston Allen had Badger fans on their feet when he announced his commitment, something Braelon took note of.
“Homegrown Allen’s at RBU >>>>>>>>” Braelon Allen wrote. Kingston wasted no time responding, “Awesome to see love from one of the greats!!!”
While it doesn’t take long to make a four-word social media post, it’s the thought that counts. Allen hasn’t played for the Badgers since 2023, and the 22-year-old has plenty of other NFL obligations on his plate. Ultimately, he stuck his neck out for the Badgers’ newest commit, and that goes a long way.
Wisconsin’s latest push is to keep the best in-state players in Madison, and that’s something it did back in the day with Braelon, who’s a Fond du Lac native.
