Here is what to know about the incoming storm systems as you plan your trip.

What is the weather Nov. 26?

Anyone traveling Nov. 26 for the holiday could expect a typical winter day, with strong winds and snow. While the most intense storm is in northern Wisconsin Nov. 26, the Green Bay area will still have 40 to 45 mph winds, said Jason Alumbaugh, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service Green Bay.

A wind advisory is in effect 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 26 for northeastern Wisconsin. The peak of the storm will be in the afternoon with 1 to 3 inches of snow after 11 a.m.

“There won’t be a lot of snow around in the afternoon and evening but whatever snow (falls) will be blowing around,” Alumbaugh said.

What will the weather be like on Thanksgiving?

The storm system earlier in the week will clear out by Thanksgiving Day. On Nov. 27, the temperatures will be chilly with the high around 30 in Green Bay.

Wind gusts will stay around 30 mph during the day, Alumbaugh said.

“In terms of the more substantial kind of weather, that looks like that will have passed,” Alumbaugh said.

What is the forecast for the rest of the weekend?

On Nov. 28, the forecast shows a sunny sky with temperatures in the high 20s or low 30s. The next storm system will be more widespread and come through the area Nov. 29.

“People just have to settle back into that winter driving mindset,” Alumbaugh said.

The Green Bay area could expect accumulation of at least 2 inches or higher through Saturday night. Temperatures will stay in the 30s.
