OSHKOSH – A wanted man was taken into custody on separate drug charges while attempting to flee the area of a drug bust near Emmeline Cook Elementary School on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
The 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and maintaining a drug trafficking dwelling after a search of a residence in the 1500 block of Doemel Street uncovered 43 grams of methamphetamine.
According to authorities, the man was wanted for a felony apprehension warrant.
Oshkosh police said the department’s Vice and Narcotics Unit executed the drug investigation and search for the wanted man, who fled on foot from a backyard on Murdock Avenue around Hazel Street.
In a news release, police said several residents reported seeing the man in the area near Emmeline Cook Elementary prior to his arrest.
The department notified the school prior to the search and updated school officials during the investigation, police said.
