USA TODAY readers rank Road America’s SCCA Runoffs in top 10

ELKHART LAKE – A race hosted at Road America in the fall is among the best motorsport races in the United States, according to USA TODAY readers.  

The Sports Car Club of America National Championship Runoffs held at the Elkhart Lake racecourse placed sixth out of the top 10 favored races in a recent USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

The annual event, which marks the end of the SCCA road racing season, placed behind Indianapolis 500 and Daytona 500. It ranked fourth in the category last year.  

Readers could to rank a variety of events in the Thrills ‘n’ Wheels & Fishing categories, including air shows, NASCAR tracks and rodeos.  

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh placed first in the best air show category.  

The SCCA Runoffs will return to Road America this year Oct. 1-4, marking the end of the 2026 racing season at the track.
