Things to do in Green Bay this weekend: Women's half marathon, Craftoberfest, Fall Fest on Broadway

Here are things going on around the Green Bay area this weekend.

‘Almost Famous’ screening

Watch a screening of the movie “Almost Famous” and listen to live music by Marti Frederiksen, who sang lead vocals for Stillwater in the movie. He also wrote hits for Ozzy Osbourne and Aerosmith. He will also participate in a Q&A after the screening.

The event is at 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at the EPIC Events Center in Ashwqaubenon. Tickets are $37-$57.

Craftoberfest

Check out craft beverages including beer, wine, spirits and nonalcoholic drinks at Craftoberfest. Pretzel necklaces will be on sale for $5. There will be a beard competition, video gaming station, T-shirt outfits and more.

The event is 3-6 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Resch Center. General admission starts at $52 on TicketStar.

Fall Fest on Broadway

Get a horse-drawn hayride, join a pumpkin painting station or the car show trunk-or-treat, check out the petting zoo, or get something at the fall-themed market, or one of the several other activities at On Broadway Inc.’s Fall Fest celebration.

The fest is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 4 at Leicht Memorial Park, 100 Dousman St. Admission is free. More information is available on its Facebook event site.

Pop Con

Dress up like your favorite superhero or another character at Brown County Library’s Pop Con. Join the cosplay contest or meet creators in the artist alley. Play board games, check out the comic making station, listen to live music, or meet local artists.

The event is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 4 at Central Library, 515 Pine St. The event is free. More information is at browncountylibrary.org.

Bellin Women’s Half Marathon

Registration is open until Oct. 3 for Bellin Women’s Half Marathon Oct. 4. The race can be done as an individual or two-person relay team. The course starts on Elm Street outside the KI Convention Center though Ashwaubenon and De Pere to the finish line at the CityDeck in downtown Green Bay. You can also run a 5K route. All runners get a medallion and food after the races.

Registration is $112.65 until Oct. 2 and $117.96 Oct. 3. The 5K is $43.53 until Oct. 2 and $48.85 Oct. 3 on raceroster.com.

The races start at 8 a.m. Oct. 4 at the KI Convention Center. The course crosses the Fox River and then heads south on Broadway, crosses the river at the Claude Allouez Memorial Bridge in De Pere and runs along the Fox River Trial north back to CityDeck in downtown Green Bay.. Packet pickup is 6:15-7:30 a.m. Oct. 4. More information and the full weekend schedule is at raceroster.com.

The forecast calls for a sunny day with a high near 86.

Phlash Dash 5K at UW-Green Bay

Alumni and Green Bay residents — join UW-Green Bay’s Phlash Dash 5K Run and Walk wearing your UWGB gear. The entry fee is $20 for UW-Green Bay students and kids and $30 for adults. It includes a knit pom beanie and food after the race. The race starts at 9 a.m. Oct. 5 at the Kress Event Center on UW-Green Bay’s campus.
