Summerfest will allow people to bring in bottled water June 21 because of extreme heat

It’ll be so hot on June 21 that Summerfest is allowing fest-goers to bring in bottled water.

The Milwaukee music festival, in the midst of the first of its three-weekend run, announced midafternoon on June 20 that attendees at Summerfest on June 21 will be allowed to bring in one factory-sealed plastic water bottle (20 ounces or less).

The rule change doesn’t apply inside the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

The festival also reminded attendees that there are misting stations and water fountains all over Maier Festival Park.

Earlier, the National Weather Service issued an extreme heat warning for Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties from noon June 21 to 7 p.m. June 23.
