Southern Wisconsin typically has summer average temperatures between 65 and 75 degrees, according to the Wisconsin Climatology Office and NOAA.

The NOAA seasonal outlook has the region’s average at about 68 degrees for the three-month stretch. So, all is still within normal – just on the lower end of normal.

It could also be a tad drier than normal. NOAA’s models have average precipitation coming in 0.09 inches below the annual norm.

Southern Wisconsin typically sees 11.88 inches of rain from July through September. For 2026, NOAA predicts the region will see 11.79 inches instead.

Southern Wisconsin is one of the few spots in the country forecast for a cooler summer. The entire East Coast, the South, California and the Pacific Northwest are all forecast for temperatures from 0.4 degrees to a one degree warmer than normal temperatures.
