Music fans in Door County have the chance to double their audio pleasure Wednesday evenings this summer with a free waterfront concert series at Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club.
Back for another summer season at the yacht club is Wine Down Wednesday, a six-week series featuring live performances by local musicians on the club’s outdoor patio overlooking the waters of Sturgeon Bay. And, yes, concerts are not only free but also open to the public.
Concerts take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays from July 1 to Aug. 12, with special food and beverage offerings available each evening.
“We’re excited to create a welcoming midweek gathering that brings together great music, delicious food and one of the best waterfront views in Door County,” Andrea Frank, event and marketing coordinator for the yacht club, said in a news release. “Wine Down Wednesday is an opportunity for the community to relax, connect with friends, and enjoy summer evenings on the bay.”
It’s the second free, outdoor, summer concert series taking place Wednesday nights in Sturgeon Bay and third in the county. The Harmony By the Bay concerts start at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, about the time the yacht club concerts are scheduled to wind up, at Martin Park downtown and run through Aug. 26, so ambitious music buffs in the city could catch two shows in one night. The Village of Sister Bay also holds its Concert in the Park series on Wednesday nights, at 6 p.m. through Aug. 12.
