One teenager killed, one injured in shooting on Hampton Avenue

A 15-year-old was killed in a double shooting on Milwaukee’s North Side on the evening of June 9, Milwaukee Police say. A 13-year old, the second victim, is being treated for non-fatal gunshot wounds at a hospital.

Police are investigating the shooting, which occurred around 6:20 p.m. on West Hampton Avenue near North 45th Street, according to a statement from the Milwaukee Police Department. The scene is just a block away from the location of a June 6 shooting on Hampton Avenue near North 46th Street that killed one and injured three, including a 16-year-old.

Although overall crime in Milwaukee decreased in the beginning of 2025, the city has seen a notable increase in homicides this year.

Milwaukee Police said they are continuing to search for unknown suspects in the June 9 shooting. They ask anyone with information to contact the police department at (414) 935-7360 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-TIPS or use the P3 Tips app.
